Marsh Scene

I did this painting in a hurry and under pressure to get a watercolor out for my Thursday class. It was an attempt to paint loosely. When it was done I didn't particularly like it so wondered whether to even take it to class. It's interesting that it was well received and got a good critique from Jerry Stitt, my instructor. Maybe sometimes we are too close to our work to have the ability to evaluate a piece.

  2. Jean, isn't this always the way..... I love the foreground reeds and think they would work well in another version of this painting with a soft blended sky hung side by side......

  5. You are right we are not always the best judge of our work. Your painting is lovely it has a fresh watercolour feel to it and you always capture the atmosphere so well too.

  8. Ciao, è un gran bel lavoro per i colori e l'armonia d'insieme. Mi piace molto. Io credo che i dipinti fatti in fretta diano spesso (certo non sempre) i risultati migliori, e a volte sorprendenti anche per noi stessi!
    Ciao, ciao, Floriana
