This is an amazing painting. I love using watercolor above any other paint. Do you like using that paint pronounced "GwasH"(I don't remember how it's spelled. I find it similar to watercolor and pretty unique too. I have some watercolors on my blog and would love some pointers.
Thanks for the comment. The paint you are talking about is gouache. Gouache is an opaque watercolor paint. Whereas transparent watercolors allow you to see the "white" of the paper. I have never tried it but have been thinking of doing mixed media and may buy some. I also want to try acrylics. What sort of pointers are you looking for.
My original paintings - landscapes, seascapes and abstracts - are influenced by the beautiful surroundings of Northern California -
and by my previous life living in England, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. I learned to paint in Africa and now I live in the US. If you are interested in purchasing any of my works, please visit my web site at the link below to the watercolorist. Thank you for visiting my blog.

This is gorgeous! I love the muted palette, and the sky wash is just terrific. I love how it bleeds into the background mountains.
